I started my career as a university student studying psychology. In my spare time I could be found roaming around campus with my camera in hand. That's when a friend said, "Why are you in psychology? Why aren't you in a photography program?" Then it clicked! (Camera pun intended) I transferred my university credits to arts college and studied Independent Digital Photography. Things just snowballed from there as my business grew and I realised this was a passion and career that would fit well into my family life.
I am so grateful to be able to do what I love and make a living. I have an extremely high rate of repeat clients because what begins as a photography session often ends with a genuine connection. I am proud and thankful to know each of my past clients and I have had the privilege of watching many of "my newborns" grow through the years into fabulous big kids!
A small tidbit that you may be interested to know: as a young adult, I received training through Reach for the Rainbow - an organisation which provides one-on-one support for children with special needs as they attend overnight camp. I have extensive experience working with children who have special needs and I receive a lot of positive feedback from my clients with children who require a little extra care, attention and some out-of-the-box thinking to engage them in the session in a way that makes it comfortable and fun. If you have an exceptional and fantastic kiddo in your family and you need a little extra help capturing pics that you'll love, I am your girl! I have extensive experience working with children on the autism spectrum as well as down syndrome. I would be happy to chat about your unique circumstances and see if we would work well together!
"I highly recommend Leslie. We had the best family photo shoot last year with her with our 3 kids, one with autism, another one a feisty preschooler. Somehow she was able to get multiple beautiful shots of them, separately and together.
She's amazing." - Heather, Barrie ON
